CHRISTOS YEROLATSITIS’S DEBUT PIANO TRIO ALBUM DAYDREAMING
A captivating fusion of modern jazz and Mediterranean influences, available March 14, 2025 PKmusik announces the upcoming release of Daydreaming, the debut piano trio album from Cypriot pianist and composer Christos Yerolatsitis.

Officially hitting platforms on March 14,2025, this deeply personal collection showcases Yerolatsitis’s singular voice, blending modern jazz with the vibrant hues of his Mediterranean roots.
Having previously worked with world-renowned musicians such as Erik Truffaz, Ranjit Barot, and Masa Kamaguchi, Yerolatsitis now brings his own compositions to the forefront. He joins forces with Greek double bassist Grigoris Theodoridis and Hungarian drummer Attila Gyárfás—an unconventional trio that stretches beyond traditional jazz roles. On tracks like “Cactus,” the drummer’s wide-ranging rhythmic palette and the bassist’s improvisatory style form a distinctive, forward-thinking soundscape.A center piece of the album is Untold, an edgy three-part suite featuring guest saxophonist David Lynch.
The piece begins with an 11/8 meter that gradually evolves into a hypnotic, layered groove, transitions into an open, reflective mid-section, and culminates in a cathartic finale of looping arpeggios and a repeated melody—providing ample space for free-flowings ax improvisation.By contrast, Memories and Waltz for Persefoni offer an intimate glimpse into Yerolatsitis’s personal world, recalling summer nights spent with his grandmother and god mother—women who significantly shaped his upbringing. These pieces underscore the warmth and sincerity at the heart of Daydreaming.

"This album comes from a very honest place,” Yerolatsitis reflects. “It’s a snapshot of ourjourney together as musicians and individuals. The music doesn’t aim to prove anything; itsimply expresses where we are right now.”The album's artwork was created in collaboration with renowned black-and-white streetphotographer Charis Ioannou. His vision and concept turned the music into a visual statement.

Aman-Rebetiko Project

Cafe aman was a kind of popular café of pre-war Greece that had a strong presence in the large urban centres of Asia Minor, where singers and musicians improvised in free rhythm and melody.
These were the places where the intense musical tradition of the Asia Minor people was formed, who later, after moving to the opposite side of the Aegean Sea, mainly to the port of Piraeus, created the Rebetika movement.
Cafe aman ceased to exist in Greece, following a prohibition order by the dictator Metaxas regime in 1937, but the music that was born in them continued to live on with the “Rebetes”.
A variety of rhythms, but mainly of musical paths and melodies, was deeply rooted in the artists that period, managing to express their passions and emotions, but also finding, then as now, a great resonance in a multitude of people.
The musical ensemble Aman Rebetiko will take us with the beauty of its instruments and the magical voices of its members, to the magical sounds of the Rebetiko melodies as they started from Asia Minor and reached the port of Piraeus.
